BLOG 3: ESE and MOE MASTERPLAN

    Masterplan1, 2 & 3 has built a huge educational system for linking teachers, pupils and parent. When ESE, MOE Masterplan is disseminating in school. For example, information platform(LCD).
    When ESE, I always looked for the resource for my teaching, like edumall, lead.com, youtube into my Microsoft Power Point. I felt that my pupils love the class when using the ICT, that because Chinese language is not boring already, they were willing to learn and answer the question enthusiastically. Definitely, ICT makes the Chinese language learning different, be more interesting and quite lively.
    Masterplan1,I have seen teachers would digest from website and combine it with the topic, it is linkages between the school and the world around it. In the past , the traditional processes in education is learning then spelling, but now spelling can be changed different. Then , training the pupil have a creative thinking, lifelong learning and social responsibility, that means is not limited to textbook. Make the administrative and management be better in the education system.
    Masterplan2, our school IT HOD integrated the infrastructure requirements and digital resources, borrow it to teacher and pupil, encourage them do presentation on the assembly, then could be a story or experiences in their life which to ensure that all schools achieve a certain level of ICT use. Our Chinese language HOD will demand teacher guid and discuss with the pupils to do a assessment about extracurricular reading material in the ICT time which carried out with searching data from website.Then award the pupil who done it well. It can achieve higher levels of ICT use in education to teacher and pupils.
MasterPlan3 gives teachers a chance to trying to put away the text books, especially for out of class. Pupils are then asked to associate the Chinese character they have learned with real life.Using the Lead.com, pupils can post their pronunciation, photo, then share on the website, to hit the goal of self-directed learning. After that, pupils and teachers are hit the goal of collaborative learning through and through the community's interaction, these ideas are refined and developed fully.  
I think Masterplan 1,2 &3 has given a good benefits to school, teacher, pupils & parents but it also have to face the problem , like our school is not enough the time to push towards the goal as examination. 

BLOG 2: MOE Masterplan for ICT

    Definitely from 1997, Masterplan 1 has pushed Singapore forward to a new trend of education. In the period of first plan, teachers had basic knowledge of ICT integration competency what follows next MP2 and MP3 to be published and developed.

    We can say that MasterPlan has totally changed the traditional environment and habit of teaching and learning, Singapore teachers have competitive strength in worldwide, they able to integrate knowledges and computer tech on teaching. They need to know how to design a good lesson plan and assessment on computer for sharing to pupil, then make them get these knowledges in highly effective.

Profile of the class:
(For e.g., the students’ academic abilities,  stream and other characteristics)
Pupils of  3-3 is a better class than the others. Their Chinese language’s ability and knowledge are quite good . Likely, teacher asks some questions after complete one topic, they can give the right answer.

Windows Movie Maker;
Power Point;
Xuele;
Youtube;
HansWare.

Describe how ICT is used for teaching and learning in the lesson.

ICT is not just a good tool but also is sufficient to help pupils learning. Especially for Chinese language. I think CL is a big problem to most of Singapore pupils, so the animation and video can increase their interested in learning.
Before I started my new topic, I would find pictures and animation from Baidu ,or Youtube….. which is related to the topic, then insert to Power Point. First step, I play the animation then ask them some question. Second step, guide pupils understand the topic content and the pronounciation of a Chinese character through XUELE (www.xuele.edumall.sg) .After that, show the method of Chinese character’s writing on the HansWare . Third step, those of pupils separate few groups to settle the question of the LEAD.COM
(http://www.lead.com.sg/LEAD/login/lms_login.aspx) for training them solving problem and critical thinking,. Last step, request pupils to review the topic with parent through the LEAD.COM which has prepared some related questions then parent  could know the ability of child immediately.
   Definitely, ICT will be a good assistant to teacher but doesn’t mean it can replace teacher. I believe that ICT is a best link between teacher, pupil and parent for getting a high efficiency in teaching, learning  and guarding.


(II)    General Observation:




Especially Chinese language, ICT is necessary to be used in teaching.  School of teachers felt that our pupils are happy to attending the class when we gave them a lot of animations and videos which found from website.I have to admit that animated thing has been distracted  anyone, it can be certified on Chinese language.
Although school teachers have to follow the schedule of  teaching, and maybe delay the it, ICT would not be given up. It  has been a tool for assisting pupils to keep well in learning.
